Where things stand
XRP spot: $1.30, CoinDesk price page, Thursday Oct 15, 9:09 am ET; down from Wednesday's $1.37 Coinbase stamp (different source). Evidence verified through Oct 15, 9:30 am ET.
All eight gauges hold. Treasury's par curve put the 30-year at 5.52% Wednesday, two basis points above 5.50, so the Bond Stress count is still zero. December Brent settled $106.06, keeping the Macro Backdrop count at zero. A sinking in Hormuz blocks that improve count, and XRP ETFs took $0.74M. Tap any gauge for its basis, criteria and math.

1September producer prices jump 1.3%, most since March 2022
High✓ VerifiedProducer prices for final demand rose 1.3% in September, seasonally adjusted, the largest monthly rise since March 2022, and 6.3% over 12 months, the most since December 2022, per this morning's BLS release. August was revised up to 0.5%. Energy did most of the work: final demand energy jumped 10.8% and gasoline 20.3%, and BLS attributes over 80% of the goods rise to energy. Final demand goods rose 2.6%, the largest since the series began in December 2009. The BLS core measure (final demand less foods, energy and trade services) rose 0.5%, and 5.0% over the year. Some outlets reported a 0.7% core figure; the BLS table shows 0.5%, the number used here. Economists polled by Dow Jones expected 0.6% on the month (CNBC).
Why it matters: this lands a day after September CPI rose 0.6% with core up 0.3%, and the Global Liquidity worsen test is a second Fed hike in 2026. CME FedWatch put October hike odds near 32% Thursday morning (Washington Times citing CME), with December the more widely expected meeting. Counter-evidence: bonds did not sell off on the print. The 30-year fell about 13 basis points to 5.39% shortly after the release (Seeking Alpha) as equities slid and money moved into Treasuries; that is an intraday quote, not a close. A hot upstream print met by a long-end rally reads as growth and risk-off demand outweighing the inflation signal, at least for one morning.
2DriveWealth adopts RLUSD on the XRP Ledger for settlement
High✓ VerifiedDriveWealth, a brokerage-as-a-service platform, will use RLUSD on the XRP Ledger for settlement, starting in Europe with a planned US expansion, Ripple announced Oct 14 (The Block, crypto.news). The deal covers four workstreams: RLUSD settlement with Ripple's mint and burn tools, Ripple Payments for cross-border funding from DriveWealth's partners, digital asset custody, and exploration of equity financing through Ripple Prime's Delta One business. DriveWealth clients will be able to fund collateral accounts with stablecoins that convert to cash in near real time. It serves more than 100 global partners (crypto.news).
What is not in the announcement: a go-live date for the European settlement leg, the DriveWealth entity that runs it, or expected volume (Altcoin Buzz). This is an RLUSD and XRP Ledger story, not an XRP demand story: nothing in the release requires anyone to buy or hold XRP, and settling RLUSD on the ledger uses tiny XRP fees, not inventory. It adds to a week of Ripple stablecoin rails, after Standard Chartered switched on RLUSD custody on the ledger through its Dubai branch (The Block), and it landed as XRP fell to about $1.30. The marker to watch is a dated go-live.
3XRP ETFs take $740K, all through Bitwise
Medium✓ VerifiedUS spot XRP ETFs took a net $740.41K on Oct 14, all through Bitwise's XRP fund, with the other four funds flat, per SoSoValue and CoinGlass (both read from screenshots). The two tables match to the dollar, which reads as convergence on one disclosure source, not two independent estimates. Net assets fell to $1.51B from $1.56B the day before as XRP slid; cumulative inflow is $1.80B and value traded $24.90M (SoSoValue). Bitcoin ETFs lost $261.4M the same day, led by $152.7M out of FBTC, and ether ETFs about $130M (Crypto Briefing, citing Farside).
Gauge math: the week of Oct 12 has $0.74M after three sessions against the $39.78M reference, so the improve test now needs about $39.04M in two sessions (desk calc). There was no net outflow, so the WEAKENING test is not met and XRP Flows holds at NEUTRAL. A small positive print on a down day is not demand: XRP traded about $1.30 this morning (CoinDesk), down from $1.37 Wednesday.
4Container ship GFS Pride sinks in the Strait of Hormuz
High✓ VerifiedThe Singapore-registered container ship GFS Pride sank in the Strait of Hormuz on Oct 14 after being struck and catching fire (CNBC). The cause is disputed: CNBC reports an unidentified projectile, while Iran's Revolutionary Guards say the ship hit a naval mine (Tasnim via CNBC; IRGC statement via Yahoo Finance). The desk has not located a UKMTO notice of the sinking itself. CNBC counts more than 20 vessels attacked in Hormuz, the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman this month, per UKMTO incident reports.
Oil: December Brent settled $106.06 on Oct 14, up 37 cents (Yahoo Finance), then traded about $104.52 Thursday morning as traders weighed the IEA's October report (CNBC). Counter-evidence on supply: Gulf flows excluding Iran recovered to more than 81% of prewar levels in September (Yahoo Finance), so cargoes are still moving under fire. For the gauges: the new strike blocks the Hormuz improve count, and Brent sits $16.06 above the $90.00 Oil Shock improve marker (desk calc).
5Houthis vow more strikes on Saudi airports and oil sites
High✓ VerifiedThe Houthis vowed on Oct 14 to keep attacking Saudi airports and oil facilities, a day after a strike that sources told Reuters caused heavy damage to Aramco's Dhahran headquarters, against the Saudi Press Agency's earlier description of a limited fire (Reuters via US News). The Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted a ballistic missile fired toward Riyadh on Wednesday, and CNN reported interceptions of three cruise missiles and two drones aimed at the Riyadh region and the south. The Houthis claim they also targeted King Khalid International Airport and an Aramco refinery in Riyadh; no Saudi or Aramco confirmation of a hit on a producing or refining site has been located.
A post from monitored X accounts Thursday morning said the coalition reported attempted attacks on dozens of airports, oil facilities and ports; the desk has not found that statement in a primary or wire source and logs it UNVERIFIED. Why it matters: the Saudi front is an oil-supply risk separate from Hormuz, but so far the confirmed damage is to offices and airports, not barrels. The watch item closes on a confirmed strike on an oil facility, or Oct 27.
6Evernorth's XRPN closes at $15.26 on bell day
Medium✓ VerifiedEvernorth rang the Nasdaq closing bell on Oct 14 (Nasdaq), and XRPN closed at $15.26, down 7.40%, on about 1.69 million shares after touching $14.00 (StockAnalysis). That follows $16.91 on Oct 12 and $16.48 on Oct 13; after hours it traded at $14.95. The same day Evernorth named Ripple, Kraken, Coinbase and BitGo as execution partners, covered in Wednesday's brief.
Still missing: any disclosed XRP purchase, a deployment size, or a filing reconciling the release totals (about 473M XRP and about $300M gross cash) with the 8-K components. The share price is not an XRP flow: most of the treasury was contributed before listing, so trading in XRPN does not buy XRP. A falling share price matters mainly for any future equity raise to buy XRP, which is the variable worth watching.
7Ripple Prime launches 24/7 RWA perpetual swaps
Medium✓ VerifiedRipple Prime launched support for real-world asset perpetual swaps on Oct 15, with institutional clients including Virtu trading swaps referencing more than 100 markets across equities, indices, ETFs, metals, energy and FX, traded and settled 24/7 (Ripple). Ripple Prime trades as principal, and the swaps reference perpetual futures listed by Trade.xyz on Hyperliquid. Clients can cross-margin against other asset classes and post RLUSD as collateral. Coinpedia reports the service runs under a BVI license for now, with other regions planned. Open interest in RWA perpetuals across major venues has grown to about $9B in a year (ChainCatcher, citing Bloomberg).
XRP link: none in the release. RLUSD gains another collateral use; XRP is not named. This is Ripple's prime brokerage business, a separate variable from XRP token demand.
8SEC approves Cboe binary options on company KPIs
MediumPartially verifiedThe SEC approved a Cboe rule change to list binary options tied to key performance indicators reported by public companies, crypto outlets report, citing an Oct 13 statement by Chair Paul Atkins (crypto.news, The Crypto Times). The initial list covers 23 companies, including Coinbase, Robinhood and MARA, with contracts on measures such as MARA bitcoin production and Robinhood funded customers; The Crypto Times says Coinbase total trading volume is not among the first contracts. Robinhood is expected to be the first retail broker to offer them. Atkins framed the decision as SEC and CFTC harmonization.
Verification: the desk has not opened the SEC order or the Atkins statement itself, so this stays PARTIALLY VERIFIED until the primary document is read. For the gauges: it does not qualify for Macro Backdrop. The regulatory improve leg needs a Federal Register rule on market structure or listing standards, or an OCC action expanding bank authority; an exchange rule approval is none of those.
